Through historical events, key episodes, trial records, dialogues, anniversaries, and more or less well-known figures from around the world, La Tela explores the path of women’s emancipation movements, intertwining historical narration with illustration. The Italian edition is enriched with an introductory note by Barbara De Micheli.

Written by Oriol Canosa – an author and bookseller, already known for winning the Premi Josep Maria Folch i Torres with the novel *L’illa de Paidonèsia* – and illustrated by Marta R. Gustems, the book retraces 150 years of global feminist history, starting from 1872 in Birmingham and reaching the present day.

Between historical events, key episodes, trial records, dialogues, anniversaries, and more or less known figures from around the world, La Tela explores the journey of women’s emancipation movements, intertwining historical narrative and illustration.

The Italian edition is enriched with an introductory note by Barbara De Micheli, a gender policy expert and coordinator of the Master’s in Gender Equality and Diversity Management at the Giacomo Brodolini Foundation. Here are her words:

“There are several layers of interpretation in this book, and in each of them, the female perspective is very present. There is History, told through specific episodes related to the evolution of technologies and labor. Specific episodes are remembered that mark the milestones of women’s rights struggles.
