This slim volume inaugurates the H83 Documenta series, an editorial project by Habitat Ottantatré created in collaboration with the publisher Lazy Dog. The series is curated by Annalisa Ferraro, with artistic direction by Zeno Massignan, and is designed to translate exhibition projects into an enduring editorial form that aims to transcend the temporary nature of the exhibition itself.
Specifically, this volume was published on the occasion of Devenīre, the exhibition by Federico Gori, which took place from October 5 to December 7, 2024. The exhibition, curated by Annalisa Ferraro, transformed over 200 square meters of exhibition space into a visual narrative focused on the theme of natural permanence and impermanence. Federico Gori explored resilience, rituality, and the inevitable transformations of the natural world, offering a profound investigation that intertwines past and present in a single ‘present moment’. The works on display, selected to represent the last ten years of his artistic research, highlight the heterogeneity of materials, languages, and techniques used.
This booklet is not only a documentation of the exhibition but also an autonomous editorial experience born from the intersection of various disciplines. The format aims to hybridize essay writing, journalism, catalog, and artist’s book. Each copy is made unique and unrepeatable through the intervention of the chosen artist, in this case, Federico Gori, who worked on each of the 130 covers, making the volume both a publication to be browsed and, at the same time, a collectible object.
